Melbourne is a city that takes its pub culture seriously.  From comfy corners to bustling hotspots, the Victorian capital has pubs everywhere to cater to each flavour and temper. No matter if you are a local or searching for a new hangout region or a traveller who wants to enjoy Melbourne’s famous nightlife,  you’ll find pubs in each corner of the town. Australia has many pubs, and Melbourne is no exception. But even as many of the country-consuming dens fit the mildew of the classic Aussie hotel, the quality of those ooze man or woman, pump out top-class beer and serve up satisfyingly scrumptious gastro grub.

Returning to the city after a long absence,  we crawled around a number of the town’s oldest neighbourhoods, stopping at a few select establishments that had lingered lengthy in our pub-going reminiscences. Every such thing was delivered to us through a local as it was considered one of their favourites. They each provide something a little one-of-a-kind and have their own specific environment. As such, those four conventional consuming dens are not to be overlooked and should be part of everybody’s Melbourne pub experience.
